The first Sheriff to be elected in America was in 1652 in county of Northampton, Virginia. The word Sheriff means keeper of the county. The Sheriff office is the longest non-military, law enforcement in history. The early American Sheriff was important to the safety of the people and was granted much power.
The elected Sheriff is part of America’s democratic fabric. Approximately 98% of the Sheriffs are elected by the citizens in their county. The elected Sheriff is accountable only to the citizens that elected him. The office of Sheriff is not a department of the county government but an independent office in which the Sheriff exercises the powers of public trust.
Elected Sheriffs are directly accountable to the State Constitution and United States Constitution. The Sheriff is a vital part to preserving America’s freedoms and liberties. When government fails us and can’t be trusted to up hold the Constitution that guarantee our rights, the only one we can turn to to protect the rights of citizens is a Constitutional County Sheriff.
The Constitutional Sheriff is the one who takes seriously the upholding of the supreme law of the land, the Constitution of United States. Defending life, liberty, and property. The powers of the Sheriff can not be superseded by any agent, officer, elected officials and that includes the President.
In the words of Thomas Jefferson, “The Office of the Sheriff is the most important of all the executive offices of the country.”
President Ronald Reagan addresses the National Sheriffs Association: ” Thank you for standing up for this nation’s dream of personal freedom under the rule of law. Thank you for standing against those who would transform that dream into a nightmare of wrongdoing and lawlessness. And thank you for your service to your communities, to your country and to the cause of law and justice.”
The federal government is the greatest threat we are facing today. Their relentless pursuit to take away our 2nd Amendment and once that is done they can rewrite the Constitution.
The Sheriffs are the ones that can put the brakes on these out of control state and federal politicians working with the globalists to destroy this nation.
We are living in perilous times. The city councils, mayors, and even the governors have shackled the local police from maintaining law and order and the result has been disastrous. You should thank God if you have a constitutional sheriff. He is the one holding the line right now to keep things from getting more worse than they are.
